But, Chinese would instinctly think the subject and object: who is falling in love with whom? If a single fall in love, nice, 谈恋爱, otherwise it might be an affair, which won't be nice, 婚外情, a different word is used to describe the abstract "fall in love":)a_seedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15913775973150913065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3239670697731442075.post-39032510548461311112010-08-18T10:46:33.759-07:002010-08-18T10:46:33.759-07:00Thanks Paul! There's been a saying that Christians often talk about exegeting theBible but don't know how to exegete culture. The same is true today. The 'gospel' that we see today in the west is often a very westernized expression. The "personal relationship" that we often hear largely comes from 'individualism' that is prominent in the west. There is a book titled "Christianity Rediscovered" that addresses some of the key issues in your article.Paul Yinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3239670697731442075.post-43014762886608943952010-08-17T11:40:57.676-07:002010-08-17T11:40:57.676-07:00Greek study theology, but Chinese don't study ...Greek study theology, but Chinese don't study about gods, fearing offend them whatsoever, but Greek philosophers argued boldly about His attributes! unthinkable for Chinese. :) Chinese would always feel that discuss a person could affect your relationship with that person!a_seedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15913775973150913065noreply@blogger.com
