Bible, when judged by the usage of its time, teaches the truth without any affirmation of error.

ReplyDeleteSawyer quoted Vern Poythress: Among theist I suppose no one would deny that human knowledge is relative... We know that truth is absolute-- in particular, the truths of the Bible. We allow ourselves, however, to slip over into excessive presumption with regard to our human knowledge. We do not reckon with the fact that our interpretation of the Bible is always fallible. Or if we know a piece of truth, we erroneous suppose that we know it precisely and exhaustively....
ReplyDeleteWhen grasp biblical truth, which is absolute, you have to see the whole context, you can't just take out a portion of it to grasp the truth. For example: The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." Which part can stand alone? "There is no God" certainly isn't the truth, the fool says things in his heart isn't either. A lot of us eventually not good at grasping the whole theme of the passages. This fact alone makes our Bible inerrancy claim irrelevant in whatever our application is.
ReplyDeleteYou love psychology and think of Bible as error-ridden. make sense, but sad.
ReplyDeleteSome people just feel more convinient and comfortable to ignore realities.
