這幾天有個研究死海古卷的機構,在網上舉辦學術會議,介紹近年來有關的學術研究,我聽林教授介紹,就參加了。其中有不少題目挺有趣,我記下來一點,準備寫幾篇在這裡稍微介紹一下。今天寫關於應付邪惡的禱告。
有一位George Brook博士提到昆蘭社區的禱告活動。從死海古卷內容看,光明之子與黑暗之子爭戰,有不少感恩、頌讚、祈求保護和祝福、以及咒詛。有一卷禧年書(Jubilees),據說是天使啟示給挪亞的,初代基督徒很熟悉,似乎在昆蘭社區被奉為正典經卷。其中挪亞建構了一段抵擋魔鬼的禱告。
George Brook博士評論說,那時候和現在一樣,有兩類的禱告方式,反映出兩種不同的理念。一方面人需要悔改、潔淨(atonement)、除掉罪過、得到饒恕,使奉獻給神的禮物、服侍等等得到悅納。另一方面人需要尋求神的保護,不受惡者攻擊破壞。
禧年書和摩西五經相似,規定了亞倫家的祭司職責,要為百姓做上述兩樣。Brook博士覺得這兩個方面有張力,但我覺得張力不大。祭司要為百姓行潔淨的禮(除罪),是對付人裡面的問題,以及為他們求神保護,是對付外部的勢力。
並且我覺得就聖經本身(我沒有讀過禧年書)內容來說,強調的主要是禮儀上的潔淨,而不是道德上的無過犯。西方人讀聖經戴了個人道德的眼鏡。他們恰恰沒有重視集體的罪惡和體制上的不公平,而摩西吩咐亞倫大祭司服務的是百姓眾人集體。
今晚在線上聚會查經,結束時有人提議用第五世紀愛爾蘭聖徒Patrick的護胸甲禱告詞作為提醒。這是求神保護帶領的禱告。我從網上找到了,原文很長,我貼在這裡的是天主教所節錄一段。
